"You hold in your hands, the happiness of more people than you can now imagine"

Yesterday I was walking through the ice cream section of the grocery store trying to decide if I should let myself binge during the last week of my pregnancy (of course I should right?) when a darling little old lady walked toward me with the biggest smile on her face. She slowed as she neared me and I thought grumpily to myself the answers to the comments I thought she was about to make "yes, I am ready to have this baby"  "Yep I AM ready to pop" "nope there is just one in there!" "any day now!" When to my surprise she happily exclaimed "You, are going to be the BEST mom!" It completely took me by surprise, and not only that, but filled me with an instant injection of happiness. I responded "well, I hope my three others think so" She then proceeded to ask me the ages of my children, and told me that she had nine of her own, and how these were the best years of my life. As we walked away from each other she exclaimed again "You are going to be the best!"

I had such a pleasant feeling the rest of the day, and kept reflecting on that little old lady. The person who decided to say something nice, just because. The woman who had several trials of her own, perhaps struggling through motherhood, but I would never know her trials. I would never know her disappointments or what was difficult for her about being a mother of NINE. She didn't have an ounce of negativity in that little body.

We have so many opportunities each day to bring happiness to others. To make their day like this woman made mine. I want to be like her. With every fiber of my being I WANT to be like her. Im not totally positive she wasn't an angel sent down from heaven that day just for me. :)
